Siegen Silo Tank is a tall, cylindrical vertical container used for the bulk storage of dry or semi-dry materials such as grains, powders, cement, plastic pellets, or biomass. Designed for large-volume capacity and gravity discharge, silos are widely used in agriculture, food processing, cement plants, plastics manufacturing, and chemical industries.
Key Components
1. Silo Body
• Cylindrical shell plates (welded or bolted)
• Constructed from steel plates with optional corrosion-resistant coating or lining
2. Roof
• Conical or domed roof
• Includes manhole access, vent filters, inspection hatches, and pressure relief valves
3. Bottom Section • Conical bottom for gravity discharge (30°–60° slope angle) • Equipped with vibrators, fluidizing pads, or bin activators to prevent material bridging or clogging
4. Discharge System • Outlet flange or nozzle • Interface with rotary feeder, screw conveyor, air slide, or pneumatic conveying line
5. Support Structure • Legs, ring girders, or skirt foundation • Elevated clearance allows truck or conveyor access
6. Instrumentation • Level sensors (ultrasonic, radar, or weight-based) • Pressure and temperature sensors (if applicable) • Load cells for inventory monitoring
7. Access & Safety Features • Vertical ladder with safety cage • Roof platform and handrails • Guardrails and fall protection systems
